Hello! I'm Ms. H. I love learning in general but I also really love learning new things. I read obsessively (listening counts!): current events, newly published books, e-books, podcasts, all of it! I am a sponge who gleefully soaks up knowledge. Ask me about something new I learned today.🤓

In my classes, you will learn how to critically think about all the content we knowingly and unknowingly absorb every day. You need to know how to sort through it, establish credibility, verify the presented facts, identify bias, and form your own opinion. We must stay smarter than the machines or they will take over humanity. The future really is in your hands: Choose knowledge over apathy. Choose an education that will stretch your mind in such ways that you begin to reassess who you were, where you were from, what you keep from your past, what you let go of, and create who you are ready to become. That's what a quality education is all about, reframing your life and recreating yourself. We learn by doing hard things. We learn by failing. We learn by persevering. And we grow stronger with each challenge we overcome. Come learn with me. Maybe we can solve humanity's most pressing problems together. You never know...

I look forward to learning with you!

About Me:
Ms H's interests include environmental and social justice, ethics, genetics, and popular culture. Her favorite genres to read and teach are dystopian literature, speculative fiction, mythology, true-crime or historical non-fiction that reads like can't-put-down fiction, classic literature, science-fiction, historical fiction, all forms of flash fiction and non-fiction, and any form of creative prose or poetry. A self-proclaimed book nerd, she has over 1,200 e-books in her digital library, and no desire to count the physical books that line her apartment walls. She voraciously devours audiobooks and podcasts while cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, lesson planning, grading, and driving. She also loves to read, write, sew things, and cuddle with her cats, Mina Seraphina & Boo KittenFace Jaxon. (Boo & Mina have their own cat, Captain FlerkenFox. He's theirs, not hers. It's a whole thing...) Ms. H's greatest joy, however, is being in the (virtual or real) classroom, inspiring students to be better to each other and to our planet.
