Hi! I'm Ms. H.

I really love learning. I read obsessively and listen to current events, books, podcasts, long articles and short; all of it! I am a sponge who gleefully soaks up knowledge and I have the privilege to ring myself out through teaching and sharing what I've learned so that I can soak up even more. 🤓

I believe that a quality education will stretch your mind in ways that make you reassess who you are, where you're from, what you carry from your past, what you're ready to let go of, and who you are ready to become. Education helped me become the best version of myself; that's my hope for you too. 💜

We learn by doing hard things. We learn by failing. We learn by persevering. And we grow stronger with each challenge we overcome. Come learn with me. We can solve humanity's most pressing problems together. I look forward to learning with you! 🤩

ABOUT:
Ms. H's interests include environmental and social justice, ethics, genetics, and popular culture. Her favorite genres to read and teach are dystopian literature, speculative fiction, mythology, true-crime or historical non-fiction that reads like can't-put-down fiction, classic literature, science-fiction, historical fiction, all forms of flash fiction and non-fiction, and any form of creative prose or poetry. A self-proclaimed book nerd, she has over 1,200 e-books in her digital library, and no desire to count the physical books that line her apartment walls. She voraciously devours audiobooks and podcasts while cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, lesson planning, grading, and getting out into the beautiful nature that surrounds us here in the PNW. She also loves to read, write, cook, bake, sew, and cuddle with her cats, Mina Seraphina & Boo KittenFace Jaxon. Ms. H's greatest joy, however, is being in the (virtual or real) classroom, inspiring students to be better to each other and to our planet. 🌎
