Hello everyone! My name is Mya Kim (he/him) and I am a Running Start Academic Advisor for Highline College. I graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Geography.

I am passionate in working with student and making opportunities more accessible. I recently worked with the University of Washington Tacoma as an Admissions Advisor. Here, I was able to support students in understanding the next steps to attend a post-secondary institution. Prior to my work with UW Tacoma, I also worked with Upward Bound in various roles to support students in a similar capacity allowing them to explore where they would like to go after high school. When working with students, creating a safe equitable space is important to me. I want to make sure students are feeling comfortable asking any questions, so they have the tools to be successful.

In my free time, I am a big foodie, so I’m likely seeking a new restaurant. Other things I like to do is to travel, catch a movie, watch anime, going for walks, getting lost in rabbit holes of various topics, or staying in when I can.
