Maurea Brown is a tenured faculty member at Highline College and has a Master’s in Education in Adult Education and Training from Seattle University. Her Bachelors is in American Ethnic Studies from the University of Washington and was an exchange student at the Universidad de Guadalajara. She later spent a year in Los Angeles developing Spanish literacy programs as an Americorps*Vista. Being in adult education since 1998, she dedicates her work in teaching English to speakers of other languages and supporting faculty in integrating technology in instruction. When she is not working, she loves to play beach volleyball, practice yoga, and mountain bike on rolling hills. She is a second generation Filipina American, born in Hawaii and lived most of her life in Washington State. Her second home is Mexico.
