I earned my B.S. in 2020 from Iowa State University (Ames, IA) and my M.S. from University of Washington in 2022. I have experience teaching across all education levels, in a variety of settings including traditional classrooms, small group instruction, and one-on-one tutoring. I previously served as a part-time faculty member in summer of 2023, teaching CHEM 162, and I am excited to return this summer to teach both CHEM 162 & CHEM 163!
I am currently a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of North Texas, working under the mentorship of Dr. Molly Atkinson. My research investigates the lecture experiences of neurodivergent chemistry majors across the chemistry curriculum, with a focus of understanding which aspects of the lecture are most related to their learning. As an autistic researcher, I have first-hand experience with the challenges navigating a world that thinks differently from myself. My research aims to amplify neurodivergent voices and to highlight the valuable contributions these perspectives bring to both chemistry education research and instructional practice.
Outside of teaching chemistry, I enjoy going to weekly trivia nights in U-district, bowling, and watching RuPaul's Drag Race. One of my favorite work experiences was when I worked at a dairy farm back in Iowa, where I became convinced that cows are the best animal ever, so much so I have a tattoo of my favorite cow on my arm.
