I was born and raised in Western Washington, and have only lived outside of the state for a little over a year of my life. I try to take advantage of all the outdoor activities that this region has to offer, rain or shine.

I currently teach Survey of Anthropology (ANTH& 100). My specialization is in primatology, which is the study of primates. I've traveled the world in search of different primate species, researched gibbons in Borneo, cared for captive chimpanzees that could use American Sign Language, and currently volunteer at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest in Cle Elum. Whether you are a student of mine or not, I welcome questions or conversations about all primate-related things, so feel free to contact me if you're interested.
