I stop at nothing to help my students strengthen communication skills: I use peanut butter and jelly to teach communication models, and pipe cleaners and Post-it notes to teach anxiety reduction strategies. I believe in communication as a practical skill, more than something to study. I want my students to walk out of my class, either in person or online, with strategies they can use the same day. Students deserve every chance to succeed at this life-changing skill! I am in my 20th year at Highline and I've taught 24 years total. I'm fortunate to have earned three national teaching awards for innovation and online learning. I feel honored to do the work that I do and to work with the students and colleagues I work with. I love watching students grow as they find their voice!
