As a first-generation college student, I am keenly aware of the power education has to transform people’s lives. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Physics from Stanford University, and my Master of Science and PhD in Physics from the Ohio State University. While at the Ohio State University, I switched from astrophysics and cosmology to biophysics (interested in why? come talk to me!). In graduate school, I realized I really loved to teach after a series of teaching opportunities and fellowships came my way. This is also what ignited my passion for Physics Education Research as a way to move forward evidence based practices in the classroom. My current work is on team learning in the STEM Classroom and creating alliances around STEM transfer partnerships between two-year and four-year colleges. Interested in collaborating? I would love to hear from you!

I consider it a privilege to be able to teach at Highline where my students are a constant source of inspiration. I love working with students to build a community of learning where students feel like they can achieve ANYTHING! If you are a prospective or current student interested in physics/astronomy, come by my office and say hi. My door is always open.
