I was born and raised in Spain where I received my bachelor’s degree at Deusto University. I obtained my master’s degree at Javeriana University in Bogota, Columbia and at the University of the North of Spain.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and working with people to improve their lives through education. I have dedicated over 30 years to Literacy and Adult Education throughout South America and Spain. I believe that education is empowering. With that said, my approach to teaching is to engage students with proper education and progress, encouraging students to utilize their individual experience and knowledge when approaching their education. I pride myself on my ability to collaborate with others and have worked on large education projects such as “Fe y Alegría” (Faith and Happiness) which was taught across schools in Bolivia.
My first position in the United States was at Highline College in the Spanish GED program. Originally for over a year as a Teaching Assistant and currently for over 10 years as a faculty member. In my role as a teacher, I assist students of varying skill levels to achieve success. I also tutor students at North Seattle College in Spanish including beginning, intermediate, and advanced conversation and grammar. In the Seattle area, I have given educational presentations to college students on various aspects of Latin American culture and have volunteered as a Spanish Language Instructional Assistant at Seattle University.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling to other countries, learning about other cultures and people,
spending time with family and friends, reading and watching movies.
