Hello everyone! My name is Mya Kim (he/him) and I am a Running Start Academic Advisor for Highline College. I graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Geography.

I am passionate about working with students and making opportunities more accessible. In the past I have worked with the University of Washington Tacoma as an Admissions Advisor. At UW Tacoma, I supported students in understanding the next steps of admissions with the mindset of being a first-generation college student myself. Before my work with UW Tacoma, I worked with Upward Bound in various roles for about seven years to support students in a similar capacity allowing them to explore where they would like to go after high school. When working with students, creating a safe equitable space is important to me. My overall goal is to promote student success and to make that happen I want to make sure students are feeling comfortable asking any questions.

In my free time, I'm an avid foodie always on the hunt for new restaurants to try. I also enjoy traveling, catching a movie, watching anime, going for walks, diving into various topics, or simply relaxing at home when I get the chance.
