Hello everyone! My name is Mya Kim (he/him) and I am a Running Start Academic Advisor for Highline College. I graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Geography.

I am passionate about working with students and making opportunities more accessible. In the past, I have worked with the University of Washington Tacoma as an Admissions Advisor. At UW Tacoma, I supported students in understanding the next steps of admissions with the mindset of being a first-generation college student myself. Before my work with UW Tacoma, I worked with Upward Bound for about seven years in various roles, supporting students as they explored their post-high school options. Throughout this time, creating a safe and equitable space for students has been my top priority. My overall goal is to promote student success where students feel comfortable asking any questions.

In my free time, I'm an avid foodie always on the hunt for new restaurants to try. I enjoy movies, anime, trivia, traveling and simply relaxing at home.
