Hello everyone! My name is Mya Kim (he/him), and I am a Running Start Academic Advisor for Highline College. I graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Geography.

As a first-generation college student myself, I understand the importance of having guidance and support along the way. Before joining Highline, I worked as an Admissions Advisor at UW Tacoma and spent seven years with Upward Bound supporting students as they explored their post-high school options. My goal is to create a welcoming and supportive space where students feel confident asking questions, navigating their academic journey, and achieving their goals.

Outside of work, I’m a big foodie who loves discovering new restaurants and trying different cuisines. I also enjoy watching movies and anime, playing trivia, traveling, and exploring new places. When I’m not out and about, I love relaxing at home and enjoying a night in.
