Kristen Raine is a full-time faculty member in the psychology department with a PhD in applied developmental psychology and quantitative methods. As an educator, Kristen is focused on building classroom community through the co-creation of a learning space where all students can belong and thrive. She teaches Lifespan Psychology, Social Psychology, and Research Methods, and her research focuses on how the social context of education can promote student resilience and engagement. This includes implementing evidence informed strategies in her courses such as a using a “flipped” classroom structure where students participate in active learning strategies during class sessions as well as integrating engaging collaborative work in online classes. She is also chair of Highline’s Institutional Review Board and works to facilitate research on effective learning and teaching practices at Highline and beyond.
