I have had the honor of teaching at Highline for over ten years, and I absolutely love being in the classroom with students. Being in class is just as meaningful to me as anything else I do.

As an instructor, I care about the whole student—how you are doing academically, socially, and emotionally. I understand the energy and stamina it takes to succeed in college, so I bring mindfulness, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning into classes to help ease the natural stress of being a student. I take our content seriously and dedicate plenty of time to building skills, and I also believe students can only thrive in an environment of safety, respect, and care.

My background is in Theater Arts, and I love attending plays and exploring many forms of art. Sometimes students invite me to their performances—an experience that brings me immense joy. I have had the pleasure of seeing students shine in theater productions, ballet, and Mexican folklórico dance. I have also shared experiences with students beyond the classroom, such as attending plays, visiting museums, and participating in volunteer events.

I am grateful to be part of the Communication Studies Department, where students gain skills that serve them in school, work, and life. In my role as Coordinator of the Public Speaking Center, I have the opportunity to work with students across campus on building confidence, voice, and leadership. I also teach College 101, where communication plays an important role in helping students share their gifts in the college setting.

In addition to the arts, I enjoy being in nature, practicing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
