Born and raised in Oakland, CA, Michael has multiple degrees in philosophy, art history, accounting and finance. As an entrepreneur in the 90s he ran the international boomerang manufacturing company Gel Boomerangs, which won numerous design and world cup awards. From 1987 until 2002, Michael traveled around the world promoting the sport of boomerangs and completing on the USA Boomerang Team. Since 2002, he has been an instructor at Highline College specializing in bringing the real-world data analysis and analytic tool, Excel and Power BI, into the classroom to given student the skills they need to succeed in the working world. Since 2008, Michael has posted over 3,600 Excel and Power BI videos at his excelisfun YouTube channel, winning numerous awards from Microsoft and YouTube for the free Excel Education that he brings to the world! In addition, his YouTube channel has 980,000 subscribers.
